Program Evaluation – Your feedback matters!
Every participant is encouraged to submit an evaluation. Your feedback is utilized by leadership to enhance programs, develop new initiatives, and gauge educational impact.
Based on your feedback from last year’s Symposium, we have incorporated the following:
- Providing more time for networking and interactivity through the extended lunch and poster session times
- Maintaining the use of the Audience Response System and eQ&A to foster interactivity during sessions
- Additional opportunities to discuss key presented science through the online Daily News Live Coverage and Forum

The online evaluation is quick and easy to use!
To access the 2012 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium evaluation, please follow the following steps:
1. Access the Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium Program Evaluation and CME Request login page
2. Login using your ASCO.org username and password or your Symposium badge number.
3. Complete the evaluation. Note that you can save your work and come back at any time.
4. Select ‘Evaluate’ to submit your evaluation
5. CME Certificates or Certificates of Participation are available immediately after evaluation submission

Q: What do I need to complete the Program Evaluation and CME Request?
Users will need either their ASCO.org username and password or their 2012 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium badge number.
Q: How do I find my badge number?
This number is listed on the bottom left corner of your attendee badge.Participants will also receive an email on the first day of the meeting with their badge number. Be sure to keep this information handy to access the evaluation.
Q: I have entered my badge number and received an error message indicating that my record cannot be found. How should I proceed?
Please email giregistration@jspargo.com or call 888-788-1522 (within the U.S.) or +1-703-449-6418 (outside the U.S.) for further assistance regarding your badge number. Once you have acquired this information, please go to gicasym.org/attendee to login and access the evaluation.
Q: How do I retrieve my ASCO.org username and/or password?
You can retrieve your username and/or password by selecting the "Password" option from the "Forgot your username and password" link found in the top right corner on the ASCO.org home page. For other ASCO.org related log in questions, please contact membermail@asco.org or call 888-282-2552 (within the U.S.) or 1-703-299-0158 (outside the U.S.).
Q: How do I access the evaluation for Program Evaluation and CME Requests?
The link is available at the top of this page, and you can also ACCESS IT HERE.
Q: Can I access the evaluation through my mobile phone?
Yes, you may access and complete the evaluation through your mobile phone Internet browser. To start the process of doing so, please go to the link that is available at the top of this page or ACCESS IT HERE. Please note that the evaluation functionality may be limited by your phone’s browser; there is no separate application for this evaluation.
Q: How will I receive my CME certificate or my Certificate of Participation?
Users will be directed to the Registrar’s Office on ASCO University immediately after submitting their evaluation, where they will be able to download their CME Certificate or Certificate of Participation. Users will be able to access their certificates at any time using their ASCO.org login or Symposium badge number at gicasym.org/attendee.

ASCO University is an eLearning platform that hosts the Registrar’s Office in addition to many learning modules and educational resources. To visit ASCO University, go to university.asco.org.
Q: The evaluation system is running slow? What should I do?
Please check your Internet connectivity.
Q: I am in the online evaluation and my screen froze and/or I lost internet connectivity. What should I do?
Be assured that your data is automatically saved as you enter it into the evaluation form, so you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off. In order to update your evaluation/CME request, log in and complete the evaluation for the remaining sessions that you attended. By selecting ‘Evaluate’, you will have access to complete the remaining sessions.
Q: I entered the wrong amount of CME credits for my evaluation. How do I update my evaluation with the appropriate amount of CME credits?
To update your evaluation/CME request as well as the number of CME credits, login and select ’Evaluate’.
Q: Can I fill out the evaluation as I go through the meeting?
Yes, you may fill out the evaluation by individual session. Simply evaluate the session that you just attended. Once you have done so, select “Save Credits” and then logout of the system. You may log in again at any point to finish evaluating any of the other sessions.
Q: How can I keep track of my comments and evaluation ratings?
The evaluation rating scale for sessions and speakers is 1 to 5 (1 = Strongly Disagree and 5 = Strongly Agree). Use the margins in the Meeting Program to make note of your scores and comments for each session throughout the Symposium and then enter your feedback online at gicasym.org/attendee.
Q: I am unable to access the evaluation due to membership expiration.
Please see benefits.asco.org for a comprehensive list of your member benefits. To renew your membership later, select ‘Please continue my session’ to proceed with the evaluation.
Q: I am in the online evaluation system and need help. What should I do?
Select the ‘Help’ icon located at the top right corner in the online evaluation for access to Frequently Asked Questions and an evaluation tutorial. If you have further questions, please contact evaluation@asco.org or call 571-483-1412.
II. Questions Related to CME Requests , Certificates of Participation and Certificates of Attendance
Q: What is the deadline for submitting an evaluation or request for credit for the 2012 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium?
Evaluations and CME credit requests must be received by February 21, 2012 for the 2012 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium.
Q: When will I receive my CME certificate of my Certificate of Participation?
Certificates will be immediately available—users will be redirected to the Registrar’s Office on ASCO University to download their certificate after submitting their evaluation. Access to certificates will be available at any time by using your ASCO.org login or Symposium badge number at gicasym.org/attendee.
Q: Who can receive CME credit for attending the 2012 Gastrointestinal Cancer Symposium?
Physicians (MDs and DOs) may receive CME credit by submitting an evaluation.
Q: Can other attendees request a Certificate of Participation?
Yes, non-physicians may request a Certificate of Participation, which may enable non-physicians to apply their Symposium participation hours toward re-licensure. Among the organizations that endorse the use of ACCME-accredited activities toward recertification are:
• American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
• California Board of Nursing
• American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA)
• Medical Group Management Association (MGMA)
Q: What is a Certificate of Attendance?
Certificates of Attendance are available for attendees who need a record of their attendance at the Symposium, but do not require documentation for continuing education purposes. This certificate does not award any AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Certificates of Attendance are available online at gicasym.org/attendee.
Q: How do I calculate the number of credits I can receive?
The American Society of Clinical Oncology designates this educational activity for a maximum of 24.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
• Physicians: 1 hour of participation = 1 credit
• Round credits to quarter credit hours
• CME credit is not available for General Poster Sessions.
Q: Can I claim partial credit for attending this meeting?
Yes, attendees may claim partial credit.
